welcome to tail town cat cafe

About Us

We help rescue cats find homes.

We work with Kitten Rescue by hosting adoptable kitties in our cat cafe to find forever homes for cats and kittens that have been saved from euthanasia in high-kill shelters or were abandoned on the streets.

Other ways we help.

We are family owned and operated. 100% of our profits go to taking care of the cats in our care and to our partner rescue so they can continue to save and care for as many cats and kittens as possible.

    FAQ's

    What is the age requirement?

    • We allow children 6 and up to come and visit with our cats & kittens when accompanied by an adult. The reason for this is that young children do not always know not to pull on cats ears and tails and we don't want any children or cats getting hurt.
    • Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Can I bring in my own cat treats and toys?

    • We ask that you do not bring in any outside cat food, treats, cat nip or toys. Our cats have everything they need and are fed a specific diet. We have treats on hand we can give you to give to the kitties if you like. Sometimes giving a cat something they are not used to can upset their stomach and make them sick. We also have plenty of toys on hand.

What is the money used for when I purchase a Cat Pass?

    • When you purchase a Cat Pass to visit with our adorable cats & kittens you are helping us to purchase supplies for our cats, to pay our overhead expenses and a portion of all cat passes sold goes to our partner rescue. So a big THANK YOU from all of us!

Do I need to make a reservation?

    • We don't require reservations on weekends to come and visit our cats during regular business hours but it is suggested. Slots may fill up so if you want to come on a certain date & time it's best to book it in advance to guarantee entry.
    • Reservations are required on weekdays, for special events and private parties.
    • Please arrive 5 minutes before your reservation time to sign your waiver.

Can I change or cancel my reservation?

    • Yes! Reservations can be changed or canceled by emailing us 24 hours before your scheduled reservation.

Do you serve food or drinks?

    • We do offer some cold beverages. There is a large bakery right next door so feel free to bring in food or drinks on your own to enjoy with our furry friends but please don't share with the kitties!

How many cats do you foster at one time?

    • We have around 25 cats at a time. When a cat or kitten gets adopted our partner rescue will bring in new cats and kittens that are looking for their forever homes.

Where do the cats go when Tail Town is closed?

    • All of our rescue cats live here at our facility until they are adopted. They are left cage free and are completely safe with everything they could possibly need.

How many people are allowed to visit Tail Town at one time?

    • We have a max capacity of 20 people visiting at a time. As stated above, this is to ensure the cats and kittens do not become overwhelmed and we can do our best to ensure everyone has an enjoyable visit.

What if I get bit or scratched?

    • Before entering you will sign a waiver acknowledging you understand that you are visiting with cats and kittens that do have teeth and all of their nails. Accidents can happen. If you do get bit or scratched please see a team member and they will assist you in cleaning the wound and give you a bandage. All of the cats and kittens in our facility do have all of their required vaccinations.

    When are cats most active?

    • Cats are most active early in the day and in the evening so if you want to play with them, then come during those time. If you are looking to just sit and cuddle then coming in the afternoon is best.

If I want to adopt can I take home the cat on the same day?

    • Unfortunately no. All adoptions are done through our partner rescue so once you find that cat or kitten you can't  live without we will give you their contact information so you can set up your in home or virtual visit and pay them their adoption fee. You can also contact our partner rescue in the "How to Adopt" section below or ask one of our team members for more information and they will be glad to help!

What if I'm not looking to adopt, can I still visit?

    • Of course! Anyone is welcome to visit with our rescue cats whether they are looking to adopt or not.

Can I bring my cat or dog to Tail Town?

    • No. We don't allow outside cats or dogs in to our cafe because we don't know how they will respond to our cats and we don't want our furry friends or yours to get hurt.

Can I surrender my cat to you?

    • We do not take cats from anyone other than our partner rescue because their cats have already received a full medical evaluation and are safe to be around each other. Some cats could have a serious illness that may not affect people but can be deadly to other cats. If you have any cats in need of help please contact our partner rescue in the link below.

    Do you have parking?

    • We do have some parking in the back however you would have to walk around to the front to enter the store. There is also plenty of street parking but be sure to read the signs as times do vary.

    Are you handicap accessible?

    • Yes we are and if you require any assistance at all please let us know!

    Tail Town House Rules

1 - Use caution when picking up cats. Some cats don’t like being picked up and may bite or scratch to get away. Try sitting down and allowing a cat to come to you.

2 - Do not pull on any of the cats tails, ears, whiskers or fur. OUCH!

3 - Don’t wake sleeping kitties. You may gently pet them but don’t pick them up. No one likes being woken up when having a good snooze!

4 - Much like people, some days a cat may not feel up to being handled to much so if a cat is trying to get away please respect their choice to be left alone.

5 - Take as many pictures as you like but please refrain from using the flash. Cats have extremely sensitive eyes and the flash can irritate them.

6 - Feel free to bring in whatever food or drinks you would like but please do not give any to the cats. Certain foods can make a cat extremely sick or even kill them. The cats eat well and we don’t want them to become over weight.

7 - No children under the age of 6 are allowed in the cat area. Anyone under the age of 14 will need to be accompanied by an adult.

8 - Enter the cat area at your own risk. Even though cats are cute and cuddly they are still animals and may scratch or bite.
