Here are some frequently asked questions to help improve and inform your visit!

  • Adoptions

All adoptions are done through our partner rescue, which includes, but may not be limited to an application process, home visit and adoption fee.

Our rescue partner does not offer same day adoptions and needs of specific cats may vary.

  • Surrending Animals

We do not take animals from the public.

We only accept cats from our partner rescue after they have received a full medical evaluation, are spay/neutered, and safe to be around other cats.

If you have any cats in need of help please contact our partner rescue or read more about their Community Foster Program.

  • Health & Safety

Before entering you will be asked to sign a liability waiver acknowledging you understand that you are visiting with cats and kittens that have teeth and nails.

Accidents happen and you may get bit or scratched. If that occurs, please alert a team member and they will assist you.

All of the cats and kittens in our facility have all of their required vaccinations.

  • Age Requirements

For the safety of both children and cats, we only allow guests 6 years and older to visit the lounge when accompanied by an adult.

Minors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Reservations

Reservations are not required for visits, but always encouraged as slots may fill up. If you want to visit on a certain date and time it's best to book it in advance to guarantee entry.

Reservations are always required for special events and private parties.

Groups of greater than 8 guests are required to make reservations for a private party.

  • Cancellations

Reservations can be changed or canceled by emailing up to 24 hours before your booking.

No-shows and late arrivals may not be accommodated or credited.

  • Our Cats

Tail Town houses between 30-40 adoptable cats at a time, ages 4 months and up. All our cats are adoption-ready: Fixed, fully vaccinated, tested for FIV/Felv, microchipped, and treated for fleas/worms.

All our cats live 24/7 onsite until they’re adopted, just as long as they get along and are happy. They roam cage-free, with everything they could possibly need or want!

  • Parking & ADA

Street parking on the South side of E Washington is limited, but surrounding free street parking is plentiful.

Our building offers wheel-chair, single level accessibility. Please contact us if you require assistance.

  • Capacity

At Tail Town Cat Cafe, we only allow 20 guests to enter the lounge at a time to ensure the cats are not overwhelmed and everyone has an enjoyable visit.

  • Visiting Animals

Due to health and safety concerns, we do not allow any outside cats, dogs, or other animals in to our lounge.

All adopters are encouraged to follow instructions from councilors on methods of introduction and proper integrations.

  • Treats, Toys, and Gifts

We do not allow any outside cat food, cat treats, or toys. Our cats have everything they need and are fed a high quality, specific diet. We have treats upon request that you can give to the kitties. Several of our cats have dietary restrictions or allergies and outside food or treats can upset their stomach and make them extremely sick. We specifically pick toys that our cats are unlikely to destroy or ingest.

If you’d like to gift our kitties some toys or treats, feel free to visit our Chewy or Amazon WishList!

  • Refreshments

We offer a selection of cold, non-alcoholic beverages in our lobby and we do allow you to bring in your own human snacks. There are many surrounding local business you can support—including a large bakery right next door!

Feel free to bring in human food or drinks to enjoy, just please do not share with the kitties!
